Welcome to the 2024 CrossFit Open! We are excited to kick things off on Thu, Feb 29th.
In this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about this year’s Intramural Championship. Please take the time to read through it so you’re in the know and you don’t accidentally hurt your team.

The Factorial Intramural Championship runs alongside the CrossFit Open each year and it’s our way of injecting a little fun and camaraderie into our season.
Every athlete who signs up for the worldwide CrossFit Open will be placed on an in-house team at Factorial, and each team will vie for points week over week to determine who is the 2024 champion. Things will get a little silly, a little competitive, and a whole lot of fun.
The best part? You don’t have to “win” any workouts. Sure, there are some points for getting good scores but there are even more points available for showing up and showing out. Get involved, put yourself out there, and do your best every week.
The Prize?
Glory, my friends – eternal glory. The winning team will retain bragging rights for the entirety of 2024 and a championship banner with their names will be hung in the gym to commemorate their victory!
Weekly Schedule
Starting Tuesdays, go on a tear accumulating class attendance points.
Tune in for the workout announcement at 2 p.m. CST each Thursday via the LIVE Announcement from CrossFit (see games.crossfit.com).
Wake up on Friday morning and put on your jersey (your team’s color).
Attend any scheduled class on Friday to do the Open workout, or on Sat/Sun at 10:30am.
Join your team on Friday evenings to cheer them on, help with judging, and score some points in our weekly gauntlet challenges!
Log your week’s Intramural Championship points in the Google form sent out each Monday evening. All point submission forms are due by Tuesday at 11:59 PM.

There are three teams this year, and your team co-captains are:

Your team co-captains are your point people for all things related to the team competition and they should be in touch with you prior to the start of the Open.
If you do not receive an email from a team captain by Tuesday, Feb 27th, please contact Coach Amanda so we can get you in the loop!
Points
There are three categories of points available:
Weekly individual points
One-time individual points
Weekly team points
Details are below, and a simplified points rubric can be viewed HERE.
Weekly Individual Points
Each week, every team member can earn up to 13 participation points and up to 9 bonus points for their team.
Class Attendance Points
1-5 points - Get a point for each class you take from the Tuesday prior to each Open workout through Monday, up to 5 maximum points.
Weekly class attendance points accumulation weeks are:
Week 1: Tuesday, February 27 – Monday, March 4
Week 2: Tuesday, March 5 – Monday, March 11
Week 3: Tuesday, March 12 – Monday, March 18
Do the Open Workout
3 points - Do the workout with a class on Friday or at 10:30 on Saturday or Sunday, and submit your score online.
1 point – Do the workout outside of class in open gym (with a judge, obviously) and submit your score online.
Show your team spirit
2 points - Wear your team color OR 2024 Open t-shirt while doing the workout. Discretionary bonus points may be awarded based on creativity, so feel free to go all out for this one.
Share the excitement
2 points - Post on YOUR social media about all the fun you are having. Be sure to tag us using #crossfitfactorial #CFF #factorialchampionship
1 point - Submit a photo, video, or reel for our weekly photo contest! We will choose the best one.
Bonus Points
1 point - Get a new PR during the workout! This could be a first (double under, muscle up, etc.), a new heavy weight in a lift, or a record for a repeat workout. Awarded at the discretion of the commissioner. (Note, “doing this workout for the first time,” does NOT count, but I tip my hat to those of you who tried that one last year. 😜)
2 points - Finish in the top 3 (each week) in your division (Rx/Scaled)
3 points - Spirit of the Games (individual) as judged by a comprehensive, biased panel of Factorial coaches each week.
3 points - Have your photo, video, or reel chosen as the best of the week!
One-time Individual Points
Snag big-time points for your team in two ways.
2024 Judges Course
Earn 15 bonus points for your team by taking and completing the 2024 Judges Course. Not only does this get you a major boost for your team, you will learn how to be a great judge for other Factorial athletes in the Open.

Leave a new review
Head over to Yelp, Google, or Facebook and leave CrossFit Factorial a new review for another 15 bonus points for your team. (1 review per person. Multiple reviews will not receive more points.)
Weekly Team Points
Gauntlet Challenges
Throw down the gauntlet with other teams each week during the Friday night Open workout. A new challenge will be revealed each week and teams will go head to head to earn points. 15 points will be awarded to the first place team and 5 points to the second place team.
Weekly bonus scoring
Each week teams will earn bonus points based on a team challenge unique to that week. Think “highest scorers in each age division,” or “most improved redo.” These challenges will be announced each Thursday after the workout announcement.
Other Points
5 points - Spirit of the Games (team) as judged by a comprehensive, biased panel of Factorial coaches. This may or may not be awarded each week. Let’s see how magical you can get!
Other challenges may randomly pop up during the Open. Keep your eyes peeled and get ready to earn those points for your team!
Points Submission
You will need to perform TWO actions each week to log your score and submit your weekly points earned.
Action 1:
Submit your official workout score at games.crossfit.com after completing the workout. This MUST be done by Monday at 7 PM (CST) each week. You must submit your score at games.crossfit.com.
Action 2:
Fill out the weekly Intramural Google Form that is sent out Monday evening each week. You will record your weekly Individual Points as well as your workout score. These forms are due by Tuesday at 11:59 PM each week.
Just to reiterate – you will need to record your weekly score at games.crossfit.com AND you will need to fill out the weekly Intramural Google Form (sent via email).
We’ll remind you about all of this as we get closer, but it wouldn’t hurt to put reminders on your calendar now!
End of Open Celebration - March 15th
Join us to celebrate after the final workout of the Open on Friday evening, March 15th. Bring snacks and drinks to share, potluck-style, and join us to hang out and commemorate all your achievements from this year’s Open.
